James Suckling JUL23: Score 98 - Vintage 2018
Flinty and fragrant with wild berry, smoke and Malabar pepper aromas. Breathtaking concentration and vitality on the tightly wound palate, this has the perfect balance of mineral energy with transparent substance. The last point might sounds like a contradiction in terms, but it exactly describes the sensation. Dazzling spicy aromas at the almost endless finish. 100% pinot noir planted in 1967 that grows in a hollow where there's danger of rot, but that was not the case in 2018! From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold. Stuart Pigott
