Lukas NOV22: warm, spicy and yeasty notes in the nose, backed by fresh yellow fruit and hints of ripe apples, juicy notes of cider apples on the palate, again backed by a warm spiciness, full-bodied, opens up nicely with a little air. A medium-bodied and universal food accompaniment
Tasting JUL2020: Winey, very complete fruit, but not too heavy, extremely drinkable and juicy, long finish, slightly salty

Nicolas: " Arsène is the first name of the son of Jérôme, our friend who has worked with us for many years now.Baptizing a cuvée Arsène means integrating Jérôme a little more into the history of our house. On the label, Arsène is very elegant, like the vintage it characterizes. He is tall and his posture oscillates between rigor and relaxation, attesting that this wine, despite its Grand Cru origins and its vintage, remains accessible and supple. The cane is an instrument aimed at enhancing the elegance but also the balance of the cuvée.As for the bike, connoisseurs will notice that it is an old racing bike, (equipped with its cans of course) affirming the racy side of this great vintage. "

Nicolas: "When my wife was pregnant, the whole family asked about the" gender "and the name of the future baby. Because it was a secret for us myself, I decided to say that it is a boy and that we Eusebe (a very old-fashioned name of the old school). When we later decided to create the "Character Champagne" range, Eusebe was born.
Marie-Noelle has always wanted to have a Grand Cru vintage in her range. A vintage that she could combine with some parcels from Chardonnay from Verzenay and Pinot Noir from Verzy and Verzenay showed great balance and elegance. So she did it with Eusebe. The mix can change, but it will always be Chardonnay & Pinot Noir and always have a deep strong elegance and complexity, but also a balanced taste distribution between Pinot Noir & Chardonnay.
This is the reason why the men on the big bike are really well dressed, wear a lot of elegance and also carry an umbrella with them. It's not the rain. If you look at it, you will also see that he raises his hand. That's because we're looking for a very good and good balance ... "
Tasting SEP20 - vintage 2012: Grippy, minerally salty, slightly oxidative notes, somewhat slightly tart, herbaceous, vinous aftertaste, currently restrained acidity for 2012
Tasting JUL21 - vintage 2012: sensationally open, perfectly balanced, incredibly complex, gripping, shakes awake, higher dosage makes it a bit more powerful, masculine, long reverberation, quite great grip
50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir (from that 19% vinified as red wine)
From two Grand Cru Terroirs: Verzenay und Verzy
Dosage: 7g/l

Lukas NOV22: In the nose notes of apple-raspberry with some rosehip as well as hints of cherry and hay flowers, in the mouth apple-raspberry notes, in addition light grapey accents and some raspberry buttermilk, very animating, pleasant acidity and great drinkability. Perfect as an aperitif.
Background Story from the winery:
Marie-Noëlle likes that her Rosé is not a simple colored champagne but that it clearly marks the aromas of red fruits specific to Pinot Noir Grand Cru from Verzenay and Verzy. For this, she produces its red wine by harvesting the ripest grapes on a south-facing plot located at the bottom of the hills. The southern exposure brings a richness, breadth and body. But this excess of sun also pushes the vines to go underground to hydrate themselves. The accumulation of silt from the bottom of the hill covers the chalk to a great thickness, which deprives the vine of the minerality that Marie-Noëlle did not want for this cuvée. Blended at 19%, the red wine offers a champagne rich in fruity aromas. However, there was no question of making a sparkling red wine, so it was blended with 50% Chardonnay to bring elegance and freshness. But rather than drawing on the minerality of Chardonnay from Villers-Marmery, Marie-Noëlle went to look in these plots of Verzenay so that the chalk is not omnipresent and allows the fruit to express itself fully. The difficulty of this blend and the multiple recepied Marie-Noelle experienced before foinding the perfect blend she was looking for having made me think of the Codex of Leonardo da Vinci, So we decided to baptize the cuvée Léonard.
It is therefore a Rosé Champagne that is both powerful and elegant, combining the richness of red fruits, the complexity of the blends and the elegance of our vinifications.
Unlike his label companions, Leonard is not on a bicycle but he rides a motorcycle. A beautiful red-raspberry color Monet-Goyon from 1933 which is also in our tasting room. A motorcycle is a bicycle to which an engine has been added to give it power. And Rosé is Champagne to which we have blended red wine which brings all its power. So you understand why Leonardo is the only one on a motorcycle. The character is of strong build, and wears big boots and pretty leather gloves that connect him to authentic and strengh of the Pinot Noir, just like the rosé he represents. But it is no less smiling, attesting to the friendliness and elegance of our rosé.

An exciting, complex and straightforward champagne with clear notes of ripe fruit, but also spice and smoky nuances from the influence of wood. Not a wine for beginners, but an experience for lovers.
Peter Liem: Godmé describes this wine as combining “the body of pinot noir and the length of chardonnay,” and to this I would add that it expresses the complexity and finesse of its terroir as well.
Moritz OCT22: A charming red fruitiness and crisp acidity carry the champagne.

Peter Liem:The non-vintage Brut Réserve is composed of 50 to 60 percent chardonnay, depending on the year, with about 15 percent of pinot noir and the rest meunier. It contains an unusually high proportion of reserve wines, generally around 50 percent, and these come from the previous two or three vintages.
Tasting: This is a rich, boldly-flavored wine that often emphasizes its red-fruit flavors, despite its high chardonnay content, and its body and depth make it a good champagne for the table. Round and fragrant, showing full-bodied flavors of red cherry, raspberry, apple and pear. While it’s creamy in texture, it’s supported by lively acidity that makes it feel kinetic and fresh, and it finishes with plenty of depth and length.
Moritz OCT22: A lean cuvée with a dark spice. The nose shows light aromas of coffee beans and a subtle dried fruit reminiscent of cranberries. The palate reflects the nose wonderfully and with a little air, light floral aromas are added. Great food companion

Peter Liem: Godmé describes this wine as combining “the body of pinot noir and the length of chardonnay,” and to this I would add that it expresses the complexity and finesse of its terroir as well.
Moritz OCT22: The old vines (50+ years) give the Fins Bois an intense, gripping aroma. If you put your nose in the glass you have the feeling of standing in a bakery. Yeast, gingerbread, brioche, notes of raisins give the wine an intoxicating nose, which is reflected in the taste. On the palate, the yeasty spiciness is complemented by a beautiful yellow fruitiness. The combination of a buttery body and a gripping acidity encourage drinking.

Single-vineyard champagne from the "Les Champs" vineyard with chalky terroir near Verzenay.
Peter Liem: Les Champs St-Martin is a pure Pinot Noir from vines almost 30 years old in a chalky plot at the foot of the slope in Verzenay. It is vinified entirely in barrel and previous releases have been exceptionally impressive.
60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir
Dosage: < 6 g/l
45% vinified in oak
At least 6 years of bottle maturityPeter Liem: Godmé’s vintage brut varies in composition according to the vintage, but it’s often made with a majority of chardonnay, even though it comes exclusively from Verzenay and Verzy. About half of it is aged in wood, and it’s a highly terroir-expressive wine, demonstrating the intensely vinous personalities of these renowned grand cru sites.
Moritz OCT22: The Chardonnay-heavy Millésimé 2012 is anything but good, but a champagne with rough edges. Ripe pear, fine notes of yeast and a hint of salted caramel create excitement and animate to the second glass

Giuseppe Lauria Chedredaktion Editor-in-Chief APR23: Beautiful, radiant rose gold. Characterful appearance with a wide-ranging bouquet with raspberries, red fruits tossed in butter, the finest butter pastries, all accompanied by saline undertones, a touch of Williams pear resonates. Powerful, masculine but with a lot of enamel. The mousseux is very juicy and gives the champagne an invigorating freshness and subtle tension right through to the long, tart, fresh finale. 18/20 –2030
Nicola MAI22: Strongly vibrant, long, nice wood influence, complex!
Paula Bosch SEP22: This single-varietal Pinot Noir was pressed white, given 5 years to mature in the bottle and bottled without dosage. The result is a very spicy, uncompromising, bone-dry Champagne with a salty note, a powerhouse with great character. If you are looking for a link to Burgundy in Champagne J.M. Labruyere, you have the best example with Paradoxe. Despite the tremendous richness in the mouth - a whole cello concerto takes place here - each sip remains in harmony and balance, without corners and edges, the fine, compact mousse caresses the palate. The animating acidity makes the Paradoxe an ideal food companion from caviar to langoustine, Breton turbot in Beurre Blanc with morels to a zabaglione with crepes and caramel ice cream. What distinguishes this champagne is its seasoning full of character.
Moritz OCT22: The beautiful rose gold is radiant in the glass. The paradox is characterized by an angular dark berry fruit. The mousseux is very juicy and gives the champagne a pleasant freshness. The finish is long and slightly tart, which gives the wine even more excitement.

Nicola JUN22: Nicely spicy, complex aromas of dried fruit, toasted aromas, coherent character, very harmonious and elegant, Long lasting nutty finish.
Winery: The powerful structure of Pinot Noir is enlivened by the tension of Chardonnay.
Moritz OCT22: The Cuvée Prologue is the entry point of the Domaine Labruyere. Getting started is an absolute understatement. As soon as you smell it for the first time, your eyebrows will be raised. Such complexity is not expected from the "base" cuvée of a domaine. It is immediately clear that the champagne Prologue is incredibly fresh and playful. Some cooked rhubarb and red apple are balanced beautifully with a slight herbaceous note. The first sip surprises as the wine is incredibly precise yet super juicy. The nose is reflected magnificently on the palate. The Prologue is deep, superbly balanced, and despite its complexity, accessible and charming. Aperitif character at a high level.
