Éric Taillet
The Soul of Meunier!
For Eric Taillet, the communication between the soil (terroir) and his cuvées lies at the heart of his philosophy: "I want to take part in the cycle of life by giving shape to the meaning and soul of the terroir."
He wants to carry the energy of the soil through the tiny bubbles to those who enjoy his wines. His passion for soils has led him to completely rethink conventional viticultural methods and intuitively explore new approaches in harmony with nature – from pruning systems and row spacing to vine height and soil cultivation methods.
He devotes all his creative energy to the Meunier grape, determined to give it the recognition it deserves and bring it out of the shadows. His dedication goes so far that in 2015, together with oenologist Pierre-Yves Bournerias, he founded the Meunier Institute. Meunier thrives particularly well in Domaine Taillet's vineyards, with their vibrant clay soils and subsoils of limestone, flint, marl and clay. Eric says: "For me, Meunier is fruit, finesse, length on the palate and an extraordinary range of aromas."
Domaine Taillet released its first bottles in 1961 and is now run by Eric as the fourth generation of the family. He is a perfectionist who strives to preserve a distinctive character and style in each of his Champagnes – one that can be recognized from the very first sip. Drawing on his extensive experience, he has also advised Champagne André Heucq and other wineries within the Meunier Institute.

Éric Taillet Luminosi'T Rosé
100% Meunier of which 1% Meunier Coteaux RougeDosage: 1.5g/l 20-30% reserve wines from perpetual reserve (start 2011)2 years bottle ageingTilman AUG24: The colour is relatively pale for a rosé due to the low proportion of red wine. The nose is initially reserved, opening up with air and revealing earthy, spicy and ripe fruit flavours. In contrast to other rosés, it is also significantly less red-fruity, with citrus zest and grapefruit instead. As always with Taillet, it has a lively and structuring acidity, which makes it light-footed. An unusual rosé with a strong character!

Gripping!Nicola AUG24 (on 2015): Insanely juicy, fresh, full of cool fruit, with a lot of stone on the finish, but not barren. Lively and vibrant.

Éric Taillet Sur Le Grand Marais Brut Nature
90% Meunier, 10% Chardonnay Dosage: 0g/l Field blend vineyard parcelle "Sur le Grand Marais" Wines from a Perpetuum reserve (2013-2015) 5 years bottle aging Only 500 btl/year Giuseppe Lauria Editor-in-Chief WEINWISSER APR23: Wonderfully distinctive color (radiant yellow gold with mother-of-pearl reflections). A super exciting champagne with apricot tart and butter biscuits, then there are herbal notes, almost smelling of essential oils such as mint oil and citrus thyme, you notice the influence of the reserve perpetuelle and the wood aging of the base wines, whereby I don't see this as disturbing at all, but as the perceived complexity as promoting. Smooth meltiness in the mouth, very soft texture and full-bodied, lively mousseux, but with a salty underlay right through to the end. 18/20-2029 Tasting Nicola OCT22 & FEB23: An incredibly cool wine! It has an unusual herbaceousness and a character all of its own, but is so long, complex and fine that it lingers forever. It also has a great structure. Overall really impressive. However, not really loud, so it also has something filigree.
