An ideal combination, according to the winemaker Pierre Amillet, because Le Mesnil is very firm and acidic, a little softer Oger. Tasting: Very fine character; light biscuit and delicate smokiness on the nose, lively and wonderfully fresh on the palate.

The added dosage in the Brut version versus the Extra Brut lends texture and resonance while enhancing all the orchard fruit, citrus and floral flavors. Ample and broad, with notable depth, the Brut is a pure and total delight.

Bright and full of energy and sizzles with tension. Lemon peel, white flowers, mint and white pepper are all beautifully lifted. The Extra Brut really comes alive with a bit of time in the glass. It's a style that works so well at Moncuit.

The grapes are from Le Mesnil (Chardonnay) and Ambonnay (Pinot Noir).
