Giuseppe Lauria Editor-in-Chief WEINWISSER APR23: I enjoyed a good 1-hour adventure with this Blanc de Noirs. Because it changes in 10-minute intervals. Initially very restrained, it only reveals its facets with increasing airflow. After 30 to 40 minutes it really gets going: At the beginning only very delicate grapefruit notes, followed by yellow fruits like pear and a touch of marzipan, later bright and light red berries like raspberry join them, which skillfully blend into one with the distinctive sea breeze exciting piece of finesse to be captured in the finale by fine spices such as fennel. There are aromas of wet stones, citrus fruits, but also white almonds and salted caramel. On the palate, the aromas from the nose seem a little more tart due to the acidity. The long finish leaves a beautifully chalky/mineral aftertaste, which gives the champagne even more grip and length.Nicola JUN22: Perhaps the chalkiest, most mineral of the range, but again with that beautiful ripe fruit note. Exciting, mildly spicy, complex tone. On the third day: racy, spicy notes, strong character with enormous drinkability.

100% Pinot Meunier from the oldest vines Dosage 1.5g/l brown limestone & clay no herbicides, no insecticides 50% used barrique (from the own forest) & 50% amphora over 11 monthsno malo / filtration / fining Causica comes from the oldest Meunier vines of the Lointiers. Half of the wine was aged in used barriques whose wood came from their own forest. The other half aged for eleven months in amphora. No malolactic fermentation, no fining, no filtration. The yeast aging on the bottle is at least 22 months. The name Causica derives from a subspecies of honeybee that has a special hairiness - similar to the leaves of Pinot Meunier. Causica smells invitingly of cookie and peach cream, with an exciting smoky undercurrent to everything. The palate shows plenty of structure as well as a fine red berry quality that lingers long on the grippy finish.

We chose them for their identity, their quality and their distinctiveness — the best representations of our terroir You already know Soliste Meunier, Infusion Meunier Rosé, and this year we are introducing Soliste Pinot Noir. Next year, we will complete the range with the new Soliste Chardonnay. Soliste Pinot Noir comes from our “Les Gayères” plot, located on the upper part of the midslope of Pierry, facing west. It was planted by my father in 1974, on cool Sparnacien clay soil, a characteristic soil of the region that includes freshwater quartz stones (historically prized for use in millstones) and contributes to the distinctiveness of wines from Pierry. The Pinot Noir here matures late and benefits from the setting sun to refine its aromas at the end of the harvest. This plot also provides the red wine for our Solessence Rosé cuvée. 2015 was a hot and dry vintage in Champagne. The harvest was done in early September under the sun and we brought in excellent quality. We noticed that this pinot noir was particularly expressive and long. It seemed that this vintage suited this parcel particularly well, with its late-ripening terroir allowing the fruit to benefit from a longer September ripening. It was the first vintage of this cuvée and we have made an effort to reproduce it every year since. Lukas FEB23 (Vintage 2018): On the nose hints of pear, red fruit and yellow peach. In the mouth light smokiness, fine spiciness, ripe apple and ripe yellow fruit, in the finish grapefruit and some juicy peach, acidity rather subtle. Very delicate and animating.
