JM Seleque: The Soliste range presents wines from our village of Pierry, from one plot, from a single varietal and vintage. We have chosen them for their identity, their quality and their specificity - the best representations of our terroir. You already know Soliste Meunier, Soliste Chardonnay, Infusion Meunier Rosé and this year we introduce Soliste Pinot Noir. Soliste Pinot Noir comes from our "Les Gayères" property, located in the upper part of the west-facing central slope of Pierry. It was planted by my father in 1974 on cool Sparnacien clay soil, a distinctive soil of the region that contains freshwater quartz stones (formerly sought after in the production of millstones) and contributes to the distinctiveness of Pierry's wines. The Pinot Noir ripens late here and benefits from the setting sun to refine its aromas at the end of the harvest. This property also supplies the red wine for our Solessence Rosé Cuvée.

On these vast and sunny slopes stands La Vigne Royale (The Royal Vine), a vineyard on which our maternal grandfather has planted Pinot Noir. Harvest: September 5, 2003 Terroir: Vineyard "Mocque Tonneau" in Celles-lès-Condé,Principality of Condé, hard limestone subsoil. Vinification: Vinification in 4-wine oak barrels. Barrel fermentation with the lees regularly stirred back into the wine. Remains in barrels until May. Bottling: 5th May 2004 Disgorging: Manual, from 2014 (see rear label for exact date).

Fresh on the palate, but still with great, restrained fruit. Very mineral Pinot Noir interpretation, clearly chalky impression. Enormous length even now, superbly balanced between the juicy fruit flavours and striking mineral acidity. 2019 is really fun! Two days later from the same bottle: reduction and smoke have almost disappeared, but the wood is more present, but here too it is not intrusive, but always a great symbiosis with the light red fruitiness. The minerality also comes through even more strongly, promising great potential!

This is a cuvée I wanted to do since a long time. I wanted to reach something extreme, kind of how "Rated X" was extreme, but in another way here. Here it is a strong, expressive Meunier, very pure with no dosage and a soft oak aspect. It has something to do what the gravel gives to the wine, which gives smoky notes a the end. The sparkling is subtle but the wine is strong. For this wine I wanted to show a stage diving picture, I finally received some stills from a photographer who is hard to get, because he lives on a boat.Nicola JAN26: Very woody, opulent, smoky, oxidative, spicy, somewhat acacia-like, then the tannins come through. Very distinctive.

100% Pinot NoirDosage: 5g/l Assemblage using 5-6 vintages. 2007 - 45%, 2006- 30%, 2005 - 13%, 2004 - 8%, 2002 - 2%, 2000 - 2%. Average age of the vines: 32 years  Vinification: 75% used wood, 25% enamel tank; 65% without malolactic fermentation, 35% with. Terroir: Les Beurys du bas, Les goisses, les secs, les fournettes, les genettes, les bas touret, les vaux saint basles, La pierre aux larons, les Bouités, les grandes ruelles. More full-bodied and vinous than the Blanc de Blancs. Complex, deep fruits, and elegant with a long finish.  

100% Pinot Noir Terroir: Ambonnay Parcelles: La Pierre aux Larons, Le Moulin, Les Fournettes, Les Secs. Age of Vines: 32 years 100% vinification in wood No malolactic Dosage: 2g/l Nicola FEB24: A very strong release, unexpected for 2011, he made it only because he found the wine to be so magnificent. Balanced aromatics, rich in nuances, very complex spice, ripe fruits, delicately prancing acidity. Moritz FEB24: Tasting sample has been open for 4 days: Smoky, spicy, dense, dark fruit. On the palate, gripping without losing elegance. Round and polished. So complex that not everything can be put into words. Despite the vintage, a splendid champagne with an extremely long finish. Air does it good. The champagne stood perfectly in the tasting.
