The single vineyard Les Chênes champagne is produced exclusively with Chardonnay. Les Chênes is a renowned vineyard located halfway up the slope along the street to Hautvillers, east of Cumières. There is only a thin soil layer over the chalky parent rock. The first vintage produced only 400 bottles, although today production has expanded to 1800 bottles — produced solely in the finest vintages and only as Brut Nature.

We chose them for their identity, their quality and their distinctiveness — the best representations of our terroir You already know Soliste Meunier, Infusion Meunier Rosé, and this year we are introducing Soliste Pinot Noir. Next year, we will complete the range with the new Soliste Chardonnay. Soliste Pinot Noir comes from our “Les Gayères” plot, located on the upper part of the midslope of Pierry, facing west. It was planted by my father in 1974, on cool Sparnacien clay soil, a characteristic soil of the region that includes freshwater quartz stones (historically prized for use in millstones) and contributes to the distinctiveness of wines from Pierry. The Pinot Noir here matures late and benefits from the setting sun to refine its aromas at the end of the harvest. This plot also provides the red wine for our Solessence Rosé cuvée. 2015 was a hot and dry vintage in Champagne. The harvest was done in early September under the sun and we brought in excellent quality. We noticed that this pinot noir was particularly expressive and long. It seemed that this vintage suited this parcel particularly well, with its late-ripening terroir allowing the fruit to benefit from a longer September ripening. It was the first vintage of this cuvée and we have made an effort to reproduce it every year since. Lukas FEB23 (Vintage 2018): On the nose hints of pear, red fruit and yellow peach. In the mouth light smokiness, fine spiciness, ripe apple and ripe yellow fruit, in the finish grapefruit and some juicy peach, acidity rather subtle. Very delicate and animating. Tasting JUL21: slightly tart finish, well defined structure, fresh and crispy, with depth

100% Pinot Meunier Dosage: 0g/l Single Vineyard To the west and slightly above Cumières sits 'Les Hautes-Chèvres', where Laval cultivates Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The darker, more fertile soil of this vineyard contains more clay than that in Les Chênes and the chalk cliffs stretch even deeper. In 2004 Laval produced a pure Pinot Meunier champagne here from this site, and he has continued ever since.

50% Chardonnay25% Pinot Noir 25% Meunier Dosage: 0g/l Since 2006, Marguet has been working with Hervé Jestin, the former chef de cave of Duval-Leroy who is now a consultant to many wine estates around Europe. Marguet has gradually integrated Jestin’s homeopathic and biodynamic practices into his own winemaking, and the two of them have collaborated to create a special, naturally grown champagne that encapsulates and expresses Jestin’s philosophies. The first vintage of this super-cuvée was 2006, released in 2013, and the production was divided: half of it was sold under the Jestin label, with the other half under the label Sapience, which Marguet has indicated is a separate brand from the Marguet label.
