Domaine Villa Bon Acceuil is a young project by winemaker Deborah, who is realising her lifelong dream in Vandières in the Vallée de la Marne. She produces her champagnes from a tiny 0.64 hectares. The diverse soils in the Marne Valley allow her to grow all three important grape varieties on such a small area. So far, she has also grown them individually and separately by vintage, with only the entry-level cuvée Les Danaïdes made from 100% Meunier coming from reserve wines from several vintages.
Three factors are relevant for the Domaine's champagnes: firstly, the quality of the grapes, which are harvested fully ripe at the Domaine. Secondly, the selection of the parcels and thirdly, the selection of the best wooden barrels in which all the base wines are fermented and then matured at the Domaine. With this recipe and the approach of intervening as little as possible in the cellar, Deborah aims to produce authentic champagnes from the right bank of the Marne.
The skilful ageing in wooden barrels gives the champagnes a wonderful creaminess that lends them depth and length. However, the freshness is never neglected and the fruit expression of the different grape varieties is also wonderfully recognisable. The champagnes are extremely well-balanced and are calm in themselves. Terroir champagnes that perfectly reflect the rich soils of the right bank of the Marneufer!
