MARIE COPINET

Marie Copinet

"With our feet firmly planted in the wonderful white soil of Le Sezannais and blessed with all of the family's savoir-faire, we are proud to extol the virtues and richness of our terroir, which we cultivate with a consistently eco-friendly approach in everything We do. Staying true to the spirit of Vignerons Indépendents, we have transformed Champagne Marie Copinet into an elegant, modern brand that draws its authenticity from a long tradition of winemaking."

Marie Copinet's 10ha of vineyards extend across three different regions in Champagne, le Sézannais, la Côte des Bar and la Vallée de la Marne, and have an average age of 30 years. The diversity of regions is reflected in a wide selection of cuvées that express the essential character of the respective terroir.

When developing the wines, a wide variety of techniques are used to give even more expression and typicality. In addition to 300l wooden barrels, acacia barrels, steel tanks and eggs, hand-made clay amphoras have also been used since this year (the mine is located not far from the Chardonnay plot).
The toasting levels of the mostly new barrels vary from light to medium and steam is also used for this.

Even with the yeasts, nothing is left to chance: they are “pulled” from the respective plots of the grapes and are used to ferment the corresponding wines.

Marie-Laure and Alexandre not only value sustainability in wine production, but also integrate environmentally friendly practices into their everyday lives. For example, they have placed beehives in the vineyards to promote biodiversity and installed insect houses to attract beneficial insects. Even ladybug protection has been implemented on some plots as they help with natural pest control. Since 2021, all vineyards have been certified organic.

Marie Copinet's champagnes are characterized by their authenticity and their special character. Every drop tells the story of the terroir and the commitment of the winemakers.

Facts: R.M., 10 ha, cellar: Villenauxe La Grande, vineyards: Le Sézannais, La Côte des Bar and La Vallée de la Marne

Marie Copinet's 9-hectare vineyards stretch across three different regions in Champagne, namely le Sézannais, la Côte des Bar, and la Vallée de la Marne, with an average vine age of 30 years. The diversity of these regions is reflected in a wide selection of cuvées that express the essential character of each terroir.

To protect the environment and enhance the quality of their champagnes, they have implemented environmentally friendly practices. They refrain from using harmful chemicals, and the soil management follows traditional methods such as ploughing. These efforts have recently been recognized with the Terra Vitis accreditation.

Sustainability is not only valued in winemaking but also integrated into daily lives. For instance, beehives have been placed in the vineyards to promote biodiversity and insect houses have been installed to attract beneficial insects. Even ladybug protection has been implemented on some parcels to assist with natural pest control.

The champagnes of Marie Copinet stand out for their authenticity and distinctive character. They bring a stunning expression, a lot of tension and drinking pleasure and impress with their calm complexity.
