Framed Map Chouilly Grand Cru Wooden Frame
Mapping Champagne by Charles Curtis (master of Wine) & Steve De Long The great wine cartographer Louis Larmat produced the only detailed maps of Champagne in the 1940s.Charles Curtis (MW) and Steve De Long are now engaged in a modern update and expansion of Larmat's pioneering work to add to the collection. So that the wonderfully designed maps can also be admired in our country, Champagne Characters has imported these copies directly from the USA. The card is mounted in a high-quality wooden frame with a passe-partout. Enclosed is an accompanying brochure of Chouilly Grand Cru, which offers a tour of the village's terroir and its unique wines, a complete list of the lieux-dits grown (or partially grown) in the commune, and a directory of its winemakers. Robert Moncuit Reserve Perpetuelle MAGNUM
100% Chardonnay Dosage: 0g/l Vinified in oak barrels With malolactic fermentation Robert Moncuit started the Réserve Perpétuelle, which is always replenished with wines from the new vintage, in 2006. This cuvée, which is created in a similar way to the Solera process, is also 100% Chardonnay from Le-Mesnil-sur-Oger. Malolactic fermentation is not stopped. Each year, about 40 percent is removed and bottled. The duration of yeast aging is about five years. The style is complex and elegant, very finely balanced with three grams of dosage. Brioche and lime blossoms, on the palate the Réserve Perpétuelle makes proper pressure, has mineral traction and a lot of charm. High level.

Larmandier-Bernier Chemins d’Avize 2016 - Bio
100% Chardonnay Dosage: 2g/l LES CHEMINS D’AVIZE come to enrich the list of our single-vineyard champagnes. We began this approach in 1988 with VV de Cramant, then completed in 1995 with Terre de Vertus and in 1999 by the Rosé de Saignée. We know for many years that Avize is worth a single vineyard cuvee. In 2009, we bought a smaller press so that we can now separate the juice from our 2 Avize vineyards. Vinification: The natural alcoholic fermentation (natural yeast) and the malolactic fermentation begin spontaneously in our casks and our wooden vats. The wines are left on their natural lees for nearly a year and undergo gentle bâtonnages, but no filtering or fining. If the year merits it, this cuvée will be bottled in July as a vintage. Then the bottles are then taken down into the coolness of our cellars, where the second fermentation and the maturation 'on laths' quietly take place. Each bottle is disgorged manually 6 months before being marketed. Tasting notes: JamesSuckling.com, October 2017: Les Chemins d’Avize 2010 || 98 points - A single 0.7ha plot in Avize, this has very assertive citrus and dried peach edge with strong chalky minerals. Extremely vibrant. The palate has richness of fruit with white peach and apricot flavors. Sturdy structure supports ripe and concentrated fruit. Grape maturity is expressed at an elite level here – a gift of the terroir and its interpreters. The acidity is striking, driving a deep, sorbet-like finish. Drink now. WineAdvocate/Robert Parker - September 2020 || 96 points - Disgorged in October 2019, Larmandier-Bernier's 2013 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Les Chemins d'Avize is showing brilliantly, unfurling in the glass with a lovely nose of citrus oil, fresh apricot, peach and pear, complemented by hints of fresh walnuts and almond paste. Full-bodied, deep and vinous, it's layered and elegantly muscular, with a concentrated core of ripe fruit, racy acids and a long, mineral finish. Pierre Larmandier invariably excels in cool, late growing seasons, so the 2013 vintage was perfectly adapted to his talents. The Champagne Guide - Tyson Stelzer, 2014-2015: LES CHEMINS D'AVIZE Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 2009 : Disgorged on the spot without dosage, hence is unscored, but worthy of at least 95 points.

Leclaire Thiefaine Cuvée 03 Grand Cru de Cramant V.V. MAGNUM
100% ChardonnayDosage 2g/lFrom Cramant (Grand Cru)Aged in wooden barrels for 9 monthsBottle aging: At least 5 yearsOld vinesNicola FEB24: Minimal sherry notes, mature, with a finish of salted caramel.Moritz FEB24: Despite its beautiful maturity (slight oxidative notes), the Cuvée Constantin seems quite austere. There are aromas of wet stones, citrus fruits, but also white almonds and salted caramel. On the palate, the aromas from the nose seem a little more tart due to the acidity. The long finish leaves a beautifully chalky/mineral aftertaste, which gives the champagne even more grip and length.Nicola JUN22: Perhaps the chalkiest, most mineral of the range, but again with that beautiful ripe fruit note. Exciting, mildly spicy, complex tone. On the third day: racy, spicy notes, strong character with enormous drinkability.

Doyard Voie d'Oger 2016
100% ChardonnayDosage 1.2g/lFrom the single vineyard Voie d'Oger in Avize (Grand Cru)Aged in stainless steelBottle ageing: 5 yearsOne of the last two single vineyard cuvées created by the visionary Charles Doyard, who sadly passed away far too early.Nicola MAI24: I was very sceptical because I love Doyard's ageing in wood so much. But this cuvée is simply amazing. It captivates you with its laser-sharp polish, yet it has such a wide range of aromas that it is not sparse. Then there is a minute-long finish. Unique! It's still a bit young at the moment and will continue to improve, but even now, as I said, it's absolutely impressive.
