100% Chardonnay Dosage: 1.5 g/l Situated at the bottom of the slope facing due south; calcareous soil of clayey, sandy, silty structure over blocks of Campagnian chalk. Planted to Chardonnay with 12,000 vines over 1.3 hectares in 1962. Chablis pruning.

Jérôme Prevost Extra Brut Rosé "Fac Similé" LC23
Prévost produced a rosé champagne for the first time in the 2007 vintage. This was made with red wine from a small section of Les Béguines that is affected with court-noué, which stunts the flowering and concentrates the juice in the small quantity of grapes that remain. Only 2,800 bottles were made in this inaugural vintage, and the wine was released at the end of 2009. The rosé, called Fac-simile, is based on the same wine as the blanc, yet the addition of red wine changes its character dramatically, making for a fascinating comparison.

There are aromas of wet stones, citrus fruits, but also white almonds and salted caramel. On the palate, the aromas from the nose seem a little more tart due to the acidity. The long finish leaves a beautifully chalky/mineral aftertaste, which gives the champagne even more grip and length.Nicola JUN22: Perhaps the chalkiest, most mineral of the range, but again with that beautiful ripe fruit note. Exciting, mildly spicy, complex tone. On the third day: racy, spicy notes, strong character with enormous drinkability.
