Only 3,000 bottles of champagne (that's the equivalent of just 13 bathtub fillings) are disgorged by Hélène and Jean Baptiste, the young and very likeable winemaker couple from the western Vallée de la Marne.
The two have been cultivating 3 hectares of vineyards since 2007, and since 2016 they have been processing some of their grapes themselves. The range includes 3 champagnes.
Everything looks manageable: a couple of wooden barrels and amphorae (for the Meunier “Causica”) in a simple but functional and air-conditioned extension of your house in the green, equipment, hoses, wine lifters, tasting glasses - that's it.
All the greater is the passion and skill with which the couple goes to work here.
They value the best grape quality (only the red varieties are pressed), clean work and respectful treatment of nature. This attitude is also reflected on the labels: the passionate hobby beekeepers chose the honey bee as the motif for their champagne.
The wines are neither filtered nor fined, no herbicides or insecticides are used in the vineyards, and sulfur is reduced to an absolute minimum.
The champagnes resulting from this gentle and handcrafted preparation are unobtrusive and yet strong in character, recognizable and unmanipulated, characterized by subtle aromas and captivating charm.
