The Michel family is based in the Marne Valley at the small village of Moussy and has been growing grapes since 1846, Olivier Michel's great-grandfather finally started selling champagne in 1912.
Today, Olivier and Florence are in charge and produce a wide variety of champagnes from 12 hectares of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
An important topic for the Michel family is environmental sustainability, therefore pesticides are avoided and weeds are controlled mechanically and the winery is also certified HVE and organic since 2019.
In 2013, the curiosity and desire to engage in something new led the winery to start producing kosher champagnes, when the local cooperative stopped its production.
This decision has turned into a highly successful project and today the kosher line includes 4 different champagnes that enjoy great popularity nationally and internationally.
In terms of the vinification ot his chamapgnes, Olivier initially divides all wines by plot and variety, they then are partly aged in oak barrels before bassemblage and filling.
The champagnes of Olivier very accessible, chamrming and well balanced with the more powerful cuvées featuring a very pleasant creaminess and generous aromatic spectrum.
