Champagne Alexis is the ambitious project of Alexis Leconte, who represents the sixth generation of Champagne Xavier Leconte. His vineyards span small plots in Troissy, Dormans, Mareuil-le-Port, Vandières, and Ay.
Alexis meticulously tends to the vineyard, following the principles of biodynamic farming and considering lunar cycles in both the vineyard and cellar. The goal is to preserve the soil and obtain healthy grapes for crafting high-quality wines that truly reflect the richness and complexity of the terroir. To achieve this, Alexis practices parcel vinification. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels and/or terracotta amphorae, favoring spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and minimizing intervention in subsequent phases. Malolactic fermentation is avoided, and dosages are kept to a minimum or even eliminated.
Complexity, consistency, depth, and harmony are the hallmarks of Champagne Alexis.
Facts: Troissy-Bouquigny, Vallée de la Marne, approximately 1 hectare, R.M."
