From the Premier Cru single vineyard "Le Jour" in Vrigny.

The vines were planted in 1971 on a clay soil with a limestone underground.

The base wine was fermented spontaneously and matured for nine months in four-year-old 228 and 400 liter barrels.

Nose: The Le Jour, a champagne made from Pinot Meunier, shows from the first moment a deep sensuality and an inviting aroma, which combines a white-fleshed ripe fruit and yellow kiwi with a cool stone and tart herbs. Above that there is a scent of pastries with creamy lemon, a little caramel and black berries.

Palate: The sensual impression of this champagne continues on the palate. Although disgorged as a Non-Dosé, there is a fine sweetness of ripe fruits in this champagne. White-fleshed stone fruit and pome fruit as well as a few lemon schnitzel, nuts and a little celery, blonde tobacco and rock are shown here. The absence of sulfur makes the champagne look very open and inviting. The mouthfeel is silky, the acidity is rather subtle. On the other hand, there is a wonderfully lively minerality with a fine saltiness, which accompanies the fruit right through to the finale.
