René Geoffroy Empreinte 2014 DEMI
This Champagne bears the hallmark of the Pinot Noir variety from the heart of the Cumières Terroir. We aim to offer the best expression of Pinot Noir from several different plots of the Terroir each year. This Champagne owes its complexity and its substance to the chalky clay soil and then reveals an elegance that typifies the great Terroirs.Soil: clay and chalk, with fragments of flint; a selection of very early-ripening plots above Cumières (Barremonts, Demoiselles, Houtrants)Average age of the vines: 30 years Blending: 79% Pinot Noir, 15% Pinot Meunier, 6% Chardonnay Dosage: 3g/l VINIFICATION:Harvested and sorted by hand; pressed on a traditional Coquard wine press; only the cuvée (firstjuice of the pressing) is selected; vinification plot-by-plot to 80% in tuns, demi-muid casks andbarrels. Avoidance of malolactic fermentation.TASTING:On the nose, a coated, flattering bouquet of a complex palette of aromas of red fruits; airy, brightand vigorous in the mouth. Boasting great freshness, generous doses of strawberry andredcurrant dictate, punctuated by hints of fragrant flowers, such as peonies. It maintains a beautiful balance with a persistent finish.PAIRING:By virtue of its power, this Champagne Empreinte complements the expressive flavours ofgastronomic cooking remarkably well. Bresse chicken with morel mushrooms, quail with grapesor a fricassee of forest mushrooms harmonise perfectly with this Champagne Empreinte, servedat 11-12° C.PRESS REVIEWSJAMES SUCKLING.COM - Oct 2016 - 93/100Bettane & Desseauve 2017 : 16,5/20Guide RVF 2017 15/20Guide Gault Millau 2014 : 15/20Guide Larousse du Champagne 2014 : ****Tyson Stelzer – Australie – 2014 : 94/100Wine advocate – USA : 91/100Vinum 2013 - Allemagne : 16.5/20Stephen Tanzer’s – USA : 92/100Burghound – USA : 91/100

René Geoffroy Rosé de Saignée Brut DEMI
100% Pinot Noir Dosage: 4g/l 5 years of bottle maturity Champagne Geoffroy is one of the very rare Houses that makes its rosé Champagne by “leeching” during maceration of Pinot Noir. After a few hours in contact with the skin of the grape, the juice acquires a superb and natural colour, becoming intoxicated with subtle yet deep red fruit aromas.SOIL: Clay and silt with some marl at depth. Average age of the vines: 25 years Maceration with immersed cap in open oak vats. Avoidance of malolactic fermentation. For the Rosé de Saignée, the Pinot Noir grapes macerate for 48 to 60 hours in open wooden vats before being pressed. The vinification takes place without malolactic fermentation. After five years of yeast aging in the bottle, the result is a very complete and completely unkitschy rosé champagne that comes across as pleasantly dry and structured with only three grams of dosage. Aromas range from strawberry leaves to red fruits and blood oranges. Intense and fruity, it stands for the highest drinking pleasure.TASTING :As a preamble the ruby red hue of this Rosé de saignée is a pleasure for the eyes. The nose ofthis Champagne is a spring bouquet: rose, wild strawberry, raspberry and later blackberry, combine perfectly to offer the taster aromas, which would be unexpected in a normal rosé Champagne. The mouth follows on from the nose, with the structure of the Pinot Noir leaving at a convincing vinosity at the finish. By virtue of its freshness, this rosé de saignée Champagne is best enjoyed young to take full advantage of the aromas of small, fresh and crisp red berries.PAIRING :This Rose champagne will harmonize perfectly with noble seafood, such as pan-fried scallops orthe finesse of a lobster or crawfish. Back on land a lightly roasted duck breast with some peaches will be perfect. A peach soup accompanied by a few strawberries with a flute of rosé Champagne will leave the eye and the palate with an unforgettable memory.PRESS REVIEWSJAMES SUCKLING.COM - Oct 2016 - 93/100Bettane & Desseauve 2017 : 16/20Guide RVF 2017 : 15/20Guide Hachette 2015 Coup de coeurGuide Gault Millau 2014 : 15.5/20Le point – J.Dupont – 2014 : 17.5/20Guide Larousse du Champagne 2014 : ***Vinum 2013 - Allemagne : 17/20Tyson Stelzer – Australie – 2014 : 90/100Wine advocate – USA : 87/100Wine spectator – USA : 92/100Burghound – USA : 91/100

René Geoffroy Expression
35% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay Dosage: 3-5g/l From vines around Cumieres and Hautvillers 50% Perpetuum Reserve Start in 1970 Without malolactic fermentation 3years bottle aging Nicola OKT23: Vinous, polished, pleasant, harmonious, round, a bit of chocolate, nice nutty finish Expression is a delightful introduction to Geoffroy's portfolio. Fermentation of the base vintage takes place in steel tanks, plus the blend includes up to 50% reserve wines. These come from a Réserve Perpétuelle started back in the 1970s by Jean-Baptiste's father. The grapes for Expression grow in vineyards around Cumières and Hautvillers. Thirty-five percent each of Pinot Noir and Meunier complement each other with 30 percent Chardonnay to create a fruit-intensive and complex Champagne. Five grams of dosage are perfectly incorporated, playing with the lively freshness that comes from not using malolactic fermentation. The juicy and vinous style makes the reserve wine portion noticeable. Yellow fruit, nut cake, ripe apples and plums characterize the aromatics, accented by the lively perlage. A great aperitif champagne. TASTING: Ripe and fragrant, with an expressive bouquet that releases beautiful aromas of apples, enhanced with notes of vanilla. On the palate, the attack is refined with a broad range of fruit and a beautifully fresh finish. Antonio Galloni Vintage NV – 88P: This is a tasty, easygoing effort to drink now and over the next handful of years. The Expression is neither terribly deep nor complex, but it offers plenty of immediacy. Plum, ginger, spice and dried flowers add layers of complexity. René Geoffroy Pureté brut nature
35% Pinot Meunier, 35% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay from Cúmieres Dosage: 0g/l 4 years of bottle maturity 50% perpetuum reserve start in 1970 Average age of the vines: 25 years Without malolactic fermentation Nomen est omen. This purist Brut Nature stands for authenticity, great finesse paired with fruit fullness and terroir expression. Delicately yeasty, red-fruited, a hint of ginger, straight and precise on the palate; wonderfully strong character, refreshing, finely structured and salty-mineral. Pureté is essentially two vintages and ages on its lees in bottle for at least four years. Fermentation of the base vintage takes place in steel tanks, while the wines from the previous year are partially aged in wood. As always, Geoffroy forgoes malolactic fermentation in favor of freshness. Perfect balance with zero dosage. Nicola OKT23: Sparse, stony, with hints of ripeness, lots of character, structure, something slightly tart, dried fruits Tasting FEB20: Straight, grippy and mineral, a typical zero dose for lovers of clear, puristic champagne types. JP Geoffroy: "Pureté is not dosed and therefore distinguished by a stripped down authenticity. The detail and the integrity of this champagne are impressive as precise. The pure expression of the Pinot Meunier delivers fruit and fullness, with finesse and elegance provided by the other accompanying grape varieties. The perfect ripeness of the grapes gives this brut nature a spicy, iodised and smooth side that is punctuated by a pleasant freshness. " Food pairing tip JP: "An undosed Champagne always makes a perfect aperitif, but try it with a few oysters, and see how it transcends the iodine hints of the shellfish. It also combines well with newer culinary trends. Its sleek frame cries out for a cuisine that respects unadulterated flavours, without artifice. Last but not least, a perfectly mature Brie de Meaux makes a pleasant companion at the end of a meal." Antonio Galloni – 92P: This a blend of 2014 and 2013, makes the most of this very favorable combination of vintages. Deep and vibrant, the Pureté offers terrific depth propelled by the non-dosed style. Dried pear, spice, crushed flowers, chamomile and lightly honeyed accents build nicely. Readers will find a Champagne of resonance and character.  PRESS REVIEWS Tyson Stelzer - Australia - 2014: 92/100 Stephen Tanzer’s - USA: 91/100 Guide Revel - Canada - 2013: 16/20 Bettane & Desseauve 2017: 15.5 / 20 Guide RVF 2017: 15.5 / 20 JAMES SUCKLING.COM - Oct 2016 - 93/100

René Geoffroy Cumières Rouge Les chalmonts 2019 - Stilwine
100% Pinot Noir Terroir: Clay and lime, with fragments of flint. Selection of very early-ripening plots above Cumières Average age of the vines: 45 years Wine making: Harvested and rigorously sorted by hand. Maceration and winemaking in an open oak vat with immersed cap. Matured for 10 months in demi-muid casks and barrels before aging in stainless steel vats, in the cellar at a constant temperature. Malolactic fermentation in barrels; no fining, no filtering. Tasting: Colour: brilliant, deep red. The nose is typical of the Pinot Noirs of the Terroir of Cumieres with some morello cherry (griotte) coming through. In the mouth a smooth balance is formed between red fruits and silky, delicate tannins. Antonio Galloni Vintage 2012 – 93P: The 2012 Pinot Meunier is bold, punchy and vibrant. A rush of sweet red cherry, game, tobacco, licorice and earthy notes give this mid-weight red surprising nuance. The 2012 is remarkably fresh for a still red wine that is nearly ten years old. This nervy Cumières Pinot has so much character. I absolutely loved it. Daniela Dejnega 2022: Coteaux Champenois Rouge at its best. Geoffroy's Pinot Noir vines in the "Les Chalmonts" site are on average 45 years old. On the clay and limestone soils above Cumières, the grapes ripen early. They are strictly selected and fermented in open wooden vats, partly with the stems. The red wine is aged in barrels, without sulfur, fining or filtration. The bouquet is elegant and red berry, sweet and sour cherries, some tobacco and autumn leaves. Very fresh on the palate, silky, ripe tannins with fine grip, red-fruited again and a hint of cocoa. Needs time in the glass!

René Geoffroy Blanc de Rosé Extra Brut
50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir Not a classic assemblage champagne! Both grape varieties are macerated together, so the juice from the two grape varieties also comes into contact with the grape skin of the other. Average age of the vines: 30 years Without malolactic fermentation Dosage: 2-4g/l Tasting FEB20: Very charming fruit, lots of elegance, multi-layered red fruits, not as strong as Saignée, floral, puristic, clear and yet fruity. JP Geoffroy: "Our aim when we created this new vintage was to strive for a Rosé Champagne that was different, lighter. The delicate nose reveals notes of rose and violet petals and a hint of grenadine. In the mouth the striking minerality releases aromas of mandarin orange zest and pink grapefruit. The whole is complemented by a wonderful bitterness and very pleasant freshness as it fades from the mouth. While this Blanc de Rose is perfect as an aperitif, it finds a place of honor when taken with raw fish, such as a slightly marinated carpaccio of salmon and halibut or a simple red tuna sashimi." Antonio Galloni Vintage NV – 94P: This is superb. Rich, effusive and so wonderfully inviting, the Blanc de Rose checks all the boxes. Sweet floral accents meld into a core of red berry fruit, cinnamon and blood orange. Two years post-disgorgement, the 2013 has an extra kick of bottle complexity that rounds things out nicely.  PRESS REVIEWSJAMES SUCKLING.COM - Oct 2016 - 93/100Bettane & Desseauve 2017 : 16/20Guide RVF 2017 : 16/20Le point – J.Dupont – 2013 : 16.5-17/20Guide Larousse du Champagne 2014 : ****Guide Gault Millau 2014 : 16/20Bettane & Desseauve 2014 : 15.5/20Tyson Stelzer – Australie – 2014 : 91/100Wine advocate – USA : 89/100

It's already great, extremely balanced, with a great honey note, charming and at the same time very elegant and precise. Very balanced and great finesse! Antonio Galloni Vintage 2013 – 95P: The 2013 Extra Brut is a 100% Meunier from vines planted in 1972, is marvelous. It offers gorgeous depth and yet remains light on its feet, with striking aromatic presence and tons of complexity. Apricot, tangerine oil and perfumed floral notes all open in the glass. Three years after disgorgement, the 2013 remains bright and wonderfully focused. Readers will find an especially elegant, refined expression of Meunier.

René Geoffroy Empreinte 2014 MAGNUM
This Champagne bears the hallmark of the Pinot Noir variety from the heart of the Cumières Terroir. We aim to offer the best expression of Pinot Noir from several different plots of the Terroir each year. This Champagne owes its complexity and its substance to the chalky clay soil and then reveals an elegance that typifies the great Terroirs.Soil: clay and chalk, with fragments of flint; a selection of very early-ripening plots above Cumières (Barremonts, Demoiselles, Houtrants)Average age of the vines: 30 years Blending: 70% Pinot Noir, 30% ChardonnayDosage: 3g/l VINIFICATION:Harvested and sorted by hand; pressed on a traditional Coquard wine press; only the cuvée (firstjuice of the pressing) is selected; vinification plot-by-plot to 80% in tuns, demi-muid casks andbarrels. Bresse chicken with morel mushrooms, quail with grapesor a fricassee of forest mushrooms harmonise perfectly with this Champagne Empreinte, servedat 11-12° C. Antonio Galloni Vintage 2013 – 90P: The 2013 Brut Cuvée Empreinte is a pretty wine that is starting to show the first signs of post-disgorgement maturity. Apricot, chamomile, dried flowers, hazelnut and truffle lend quite a bit of nuance. PRESS REVIEWSJAMES SUCKLING.COM - Oct 2016 - 93/100Bettane & Desseauve 2017 : 16,5/20Guide RVF 2017 15/20Guide Gault Millau 2014 : 15/20Guide Larousse du Champagne 2014 : ****Tyson Stelzer – Australie – 2014 : 94/100Wine advocate – USA : 91/100Vinum 2013 - Allemagne : 16.5/20Stephen Tanzer’s – USA : 92/100Burghound – USA : 91/100

René Geoffroy Millésime 2010 Terre Extra Brut
Vintage 2012: 74% Chardonnay, 17% Meunier, 9% Pinot Noir  From the oldest vines of the Geoffroy family: approx. 50 years old, the Meunier comes from the single vineyard Les Tiersaudes in Cúmieres. Expansion of the base wines in wood (600 liter barrel) Bottled unfiltered, without malolactic fermentation Min. 10 years of yeast storage, on cork Dosage: 4g/l Terroir: clay and silt with a little marl in the depth for the Pinot Noir and limestone for the Chardonnay. Nicola OKT23 Vintage 12: Terre 12 is a monument! Really strong, the acidity is not as present as in 08, at first a very light honey touch but then the beautiful freshness and perfectly integrated acidity goes to the back and leads into a radiant, sublime finish - wonderful! Tasting Vintage 2010 FEB20: Extremely complex, perfectly developed, currently only a few tertiary aromas (aromas that arise during ripening such as dried fruit, nuts, cocoa, leather, etc.), very lively aromas, powerful, spicy, unbelievably tingling complexity. The freshness bubbles into the brain and ensures a reboot! Tasting description of the winery: The complex nose shows aromas of red and black currants and cherries, which mix with delicate hints of wood, underpinned by vanilla, cinnamon and pear. Furthermore citrus fruits (lemon, tangerine), peach and roasted apricots. The flavors on the palate are initially pure and of enormous density, interrupted by a hearty minerality. Then the Chardonnay presents itself with its palette of butter brioche and toast notes that merge into coffee and chocolate. Serving recommendation from the winery: To enjoy this champagne at its best, we recommend decanting it at 12 ° C about 30 minutes before tasting, so that the dormant energy that is retained during the long years of aging can fully express itself . This great wine goes well with unusual dishes such as sea urchin and crab soup with saffron, a risotto with truffles and Parmesan or an excellent piece of lightly grilled beef Reviews of previous vintages:JAMES SUCKLING.COM: 96/100Guide Hachette Coup de coeur ***Le point - J.Dupont: 18/20Guide Larousse du Champagne: *****Tyson Stelzer: 95/100
