Paul Bara's original Prestige Cuvée was the Comtesse Marie de France, named after Éléonore d’Aquitaine's daughter and first produced in the 1960s for the Parisian restaurant Chez Denis. The cuvée is produced in individually numbered and extremely limited quantities from 100% Pinot Noir grapes.
Tasting Note from Domaine Paul Bara:
Attractive clear gold colour with a fine effervescence.
Nose: This wonderfully mature champagne reveals a deep and structured nose of juicy fruits, such as yellow peach and overripe apple. Candied notes verging on honey and fresh baking aromas then appear, with a delicious hint of praline and nougatine.
Palate: Tasty and full in the mouth, with more of the pleasing aromas of the nose, as well as a hint of citrus peel and a slight peppery touch on the finish.
This is a rich, full and generous wine, which will be perfect for a meal served exclusively with champagne.
